![]() games that were localized or released in the western hemisphere However, it just ain't the same for some games, especially Drill Dozer.ĭai.e. The screen is smaller and the li'l portable must recharge like the SP, but damn is it easy to carry around.Īlternatively, some recommend emulation on other platforms as an option. no prob (since you can use a program to emulate them). The Micro doesn't have backwards compatibility, but if you buy a flash cart. If you feel you may not like it, get the original model (the one without a clamshell) and a lamp or one of those crazy ass back-lit hackjobs. There are third-party grip attachments you can use to hold it without your fingers going numb. Though some feel the SP is damn uncomfy on the hands (and lack of batteries sucks if you don't have a plug nearby). The best SP is the AS-101 model as it has a much brighter screen, but few were made as they were made right as the GBA started to die. ![]() If you want something small, bright, and easy on the pocket, get an SP, It's backlit and has a rechargeable battery unlike the regular one. The best system for it may be the old fat DS since the select button is so easy to reach on that thing. The GBA is backwards compatible with all the previous GB titles. I haven't seen Duke Advance in stores here in Germany but I got a cheap copy when I was on vacation in France. Oh and there are platforms that only exist while the sensor registers sun, while that's used cleverly for some puzzles that require you to put your thumb over the sensor at just the right time it also means that any interruption of the sunlight when you don't want that leads to an instant game over. The sun sensor is a massive problem to work with since it requires direct unfiltered sunlight, if you've got a window in the way it doesn't work so you really have to sit outside which means freezing your ass off half the time and burning your skin off the other half. If you're looking for Boktai's gameplay I'd suggest getting Lunar Knights for the DS instead since that removed the sun sensor gimmick. Lots of people want Ninja Cop but Boktai is so awkward to play I doubt many people want it. No idea how rare Boktai is but I can't see it fetching too high a price since the price is part rarity and part demand. I suspect that some rare GBA-exclusive games may drop in value if the 3DS virtual console keeps expanding. Back then it looked like a shelf keeper that was just on the verge of a price drop. ![]() There's a crappy Goemon game, Magical Vacation (the sequel, Magical Starsign, was localized for DS and is awful), a middling Klonoa ARPG called Klonoa Heroes.Ĭonsidering its rarity now I don't feel too bad that I paid 40€ for Ninja Cop. I can't think of too many others to be honest. ![]() I suppose mentioning Mother 1 & 2 and Mother 3 is redundant at this point, but keep in mind they're still rather pricey over there. The first GBA Fire Emblem is JP only as well. The second was DS and was localized.third is 3DS and currently MIA in English. The first Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest was JP only too. There's a GC title that's worth grabbing cheap, too: First one got a Euro release, second one is JPN only. You have to guide a rotating stick through a series of narrow mazes without hitting the walls. The two Kuru Kuru Kururin games aren't bad. The DS and Wii ones were localized but the original GBA one was not. I've seen Metalgun Slinger pop up and referenced as being relatively well liked, but I've never played enough of it to form an opinion:
